Niklas Söderström Brings Extensive Experience in Asset Management to Lead Nordnet Fonder into Its Next Phase of Growth

Nordnet Fonder, a leading asset management firm, has announced the appointment of Niklas Söderström as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Söderström, who brings a wealth of experience in asset management, most recently served as the CEO of Ruth Asset Management. His career has spanned several high-profile roles, including senior positions at the Öhman Group and as a portfolio manager at the Third Swedish National Pension Fund (AP3).

Born in 1977, Söderström holds a degree in economics from Stockholm University, a foundation that has supported his career in both managing and growing asset management firms across the Nordic region and internationally. His appointment comes at a time when Nordnet Fonder is poised to expand its offerings and deepen its commitment to customer-centric investment strategies.

In a statement, Rasmus Järborg, Chief Product Officer and Deputy CEO of Nordnet, expressed his enthusiasm for Söderström’s leadership, praising his strategic mindset and inclusive approach. Järborg emphasized Söderström’s ability to foster growth and navigate the evolving asset management landscape, both in the Nordic market and globally.

Tonika Hirdman, Chair of the Board of Nordnet Fonder, also welcomed Söderström, noting his broad expertise in asset management and the significant value he will bring to the company’s fund unit holders. “Niklas is the right leader to continue the growth and development of Nordnet Fonder, and we are excited about the future under his guidance,” she said.

Söderström steps into the role following Carl Fredrik Lagerholm, who has led Nordnet Fonder since 2021. During Lagerholm’s tenure, the company achieved remarkable growth, launched new funds, and built a solid organizational foundation. Lagerholm will now pursue external opportunities, and the Board extended its gratitude for his leadership and significant contributions to the firm’s success.

As Söderström takes the helm, Nordnet Fonder is expected to continue its focus on innovation, customer service, and expanding its fund offerings in an increasingly competitive global market. His proven track record in asset management is expected to serve as a strong foundation for the firm’s next phase of growth and development.
