In today’s world, there is much talk about the stability that comes from positions that have been driving the economic market for hundreds of years. However, it is also necessary to give voice to the sector that is emerging year after year with great strength, the Brazilian Creative Industries Market (MICBR). This market is where entrepreneurs have stood out in audiovisual, creative, film and other specialties.

The creative economy refers to one of the sectors that is evolving the most in the economic world, not only in terms of income generation, but also in job creation and export earnings. The term was coined by Professor John Hawkins in his book The Creative Economy: How People Make Money From Ideas. The concept can be defined as a process that uses creation so that people can exploit a certain economic value.

In recent years, the market has taken on one of the fronts in the creative economy, especially in the music industry, as a major generator of jobs, independence and financial stability, in addition to contributing significantly to the increase in the sector’s GDP. Every day, hundreds of professionals in the field work hard to generate a wide range of content related to music, music videos, sermons, books, exhibitions and many other evangelical products and articles, both tangible and intangible. According to UFPR, the gospel music market generates around R$1.5 billion and attracts market giants.

Some examples of professionals who are leading advances in this field include Léo Neves (Event Producer); Dnyras (Creative Director and Branding Specialist); and Gledson Nunes (Global PR).

The creative economy encompasses many sectors, including culture, fashion, design, music, crafts, television, radio, cinema, photography, and the expansion of different uses of the internet. Some examples of the creative economy are: cinema and audiovisual; design; advertising, publicity, and marketing; music; technology and innovation; crafts; website and brand creation; startups, and many others. Currently, the creative economy represents 3.11% of Brazil’s GDP and employs 7.4 million workers in the country, according to data from the continuous PNAD for the 4th quarter of 2022. By 2030, the total number of workers in the area is expected to rise to 8.4 million.

This creative economy model also brings benefits that go beyond economic terms, as it also contributes significantly to social development, generates well-being, self-esteem and improves the quality of life in individuals and communities, through pleasurable activities that represent the characteristics of each location.
