Forbes: Alisa, your journey from Siberia to New York City is truly inspiring. Can you share a bit about your early days in the city and how you transitioned from modeling to your current endeavors?

Alisa Roever: Thank you! Moving to New York at age 20 was a significant change, but it was also a dream come true. I initially dove into modeling, which opened many doors for me in this vibrant city. However, I always believed in the importance of education and pursued a degree in nutrition alongside my modeling career. This balance between my professional ambitions and academic pursuits laid the groundwork for my later career in health and wellness.

Forbes: After establishing yourself in the modeling world, you moved into the field of nutrition and later joined Path Medical. How did that experience shape your professional life?

Alisa Roever: Working at Path Medical was pivotal for me. It allowed me to apply my knowledge of nutrition meaningfully, helping people improve their health and well-being. It also introduced me to some of the most influential figures in New York City, which expanded my network and opened new opportunities. This experience was invaluable in developing my career and becoming part of the city’s elite social circles.

Forbes: You’ve had a diverse career, including your work as a writer for Haute Living magazine. How did writing become a part of your life?

Alisa Roever: Writing became a natural extension of my desire to share knowledge and insights. After becoming a mother, I sought a career that allowed me to balance my family life with my professional aspirations. Writing for Haute Living allowed me to discuss health, wellness, and lifestyle topics I’m passionate about. Connecting with readers and sharing my experiences and expertise has been gratifying.

Forbes: Your philanthropic work is equally impressive. Could you tell us about your involvement with Gabriele’s Foundation and how it led to the creation of Angels Helpers NYC?

Alisa Roever: Philanthropy has always been close to my heart. For two decades, I was honored to serve as a chair for Denise Rich’s Gabriele’s Foundation, helping to organize the Angel Ball, which supports cancer research. This experience deepened my commitment to giving back. More recently, I co-founded Angels Helpers NYC with Bernard Adams, the brother of Mayor Eric Adams. We aim to ensure that New York City’s youth have access to arts and cultural opportunities, regardless of their financial situation.

Forbes: Angels Helpers NYC sounds like a remarkable organization. Can you share more about its mission and the impact it’s making?

Alisa Roever: Absolutely. Angels Helpers NYC is dedicated to empowering the next generation of artists and creatives in New York City. We believe that financial barriers should not stand in the way of young talents pursuing their dreams. We maximize our impact and create lasting change by partnering with local entities, businesses, and government bodies. Our recent 2024 charity gala, “Big City, Big Hearts,” raised nearly $200,000, which will support programs like the Harlem School of the Arts and Highbridge Voices. These funds help nurture young artists and provide them with the necessary resources to succeed.

Forbes: It’s incredible to see the difference Angels Helpers NYC is making. How do you see the organization’s future?

Alisa Roever: I’m very optimistic about the future of Angels Helpers NYC. We’re committed to expanding our reach and supporting young artists across the city. Our collaborative approach has been critical to our success, and we plan to keep building on these partnerships to make an even more significant impact. The arts are a powerful tool for positive transformation, and we’re dedicated to ensuring that every young person in New York has the opportunity to explore and develop their creative potential.

Forbes: Your journey from Siberia to New York and transition from modeling to philanthropy is genuinely inspiring. What advice would you give to others who want to make a difference?

Alisa Roever: My advice would be to stay true to your passions and never underestimate the impact you can have. Every action counts, whether it’s through your career, community, or charitable efforts. Surround yourself with supportive people, stay determined, and always be willing to give back. Making a difference starts with small steps, and over time, those steps can lead to significant change.
